COMPETITION DIVISIONS AND CATEGORIES
LEVELS OF COMPETITION:
JUNIOR:
Carvers 17 years of age or under.
NOVICE:
Carvers who have "not" won two Best of Shows in the Novice level in in any
participating IWCA Competition.
INTERMEDIATE:
Carvers who "have" won two Best of Shows in the Novice level in any
participating IWCA competition.
A carver who has previously won two Best of Shows in the Intermediate level in
any participating IWCA Competition may not enter at the Intermediate level
after the end of that calender year.
OPEN:
Carvers who have won or entered in the Open Division before or who have won two
Best of Shows in the Intermediate Level in the previous calender year.

IWCA STYLE DECOY
No burning, limited texturing allowed. Feather groups
simply carved. No undercuts, must have anchor attachment, keels
and weights are judged, must self right, will be judged from 20 ft.
No painting restrictions. **See IWCA RULES**

CATEGORY 7: IWCA STYLE SHOREBIRDS
Life sized and full bodied, no texturing allowed, mounted
on a detachable dowel and base, realistic painting expected.
Judged from twelve feet: Avocet, Curlew, Cotteral, Dowitcher
Dunlin, Godwit, Killdeer, Knot, Oyster Catcher, Phalarope
Plover, Turnstone, Sanderling, Sandpiper, Stilt, Surfbird,
Tattler, Willet, Wimbrel, Woodcock, Yellowlegs.
CATEGORY 8: IWCA STYLE SEA AND WADE BIRDS
Note: See Category 7 for instructions. Albatross, Booby,
Frigrate, Fulmar, Gull, Jaeger, Kittiwake, Pelican, Petrel,
Shearwater, Skimmer, Tern, Bittern, Crane, Egret, Flamingo,
Heron, Ibis, Rail and Stork.

Fully textured and painted, judged in tank from water
line up, must float life like, do not have to self right, keel optional;

Youth's carvings and or paintings
will be categorized as Organizing Committee designates
Age/Experience will be factors. Individual entries may
also be judged within other categories (novice level) as
appropriate and as delegated by the carver and the
committee.

DIVISION I

PURCHASE AWARD - FULL SIZED KESTREL
$2500 Dollar Purchase Award.
Sponsored by Keith Levoir
Open to all carvers.
The entry selected as "best" of this Category will receive the cash
award and forfeit the bird to the donor. The subject of the award is
a full sized Kestrel, fully textured and painted. Must
be on a suitable base.
**NOTE**
A TOTAL OF 3 BIRDS OVERALL MUST BE ENTERED OR THE
PURCHASER MAY DECLINE THE PURCHASE.
